The SBTRC Northeast Region works closely with the state and local transportation agencies and technical assistance agencies in the region to assist firms that are interested in doing business with those agencies and the USDOT.

SBTRC provides procurement counseling and technical assistance to small businesses throughout the Northeast Region. This includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Services include helping new or emerging businesses to obtain transportation-related contracts, and training and advising on marketing to the Department of Transportation, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise certification, and bonding assistance. The SBTRC is funded by the USDOT’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU).

The OSDBU’s mission is to ensure that small business policies and goals of the United States Secretary of Transportation are implemented in a fair, efficient, and effective manner. The OSDBU website includes links with information on small business assistance, small business loans for women and veterans, and more small business resources.
